A few weeks ago we announced we were shutting down...
We packed up our office, said our goodbyes and went in our separate directions to figure out what was next.
It was an excruciating few days of sadness and bewilderment.
We received thousands of emails, tweets and messages. Entrepreneurs sharing how we had helped them, friends imploring us not to give up and an incredible number of people asking us how they could lend their support.
No one could escape how wrong it all felt to walk away with so much momentum.
By now you've surely noticed that we haven't shut down.
Maybe you've even read a few of the crazy blog posts suggesting that this all just a PR stunt (by the way, we'd like to thank all the conspiracy theorists for giving us that much credit).
Here's the scoop the best we can share it:
The lawyers have given us permission to tell you that there's something going on and that we'll be able to tell you about it soon... apparently, we just can't tell you about it now.
So take this as our announcement about our impending announcement. An announcement that will hopefully have a bit more detail and shed a bit more light on current circumstances.
Sure, it's a bit awkward and mysterious. But awkward and mysterious beats silent and secretive, right?
Moral of the story: stay tuned.
Know that we're working on finding a solution to help Sprouter live on.
Know that we're cautiously optimistic that we'll have some good news to share shortly.
Know that we're dying to tell you everything but are bound to confidentiality agreements until mid-September.
